My name is Helen Cheng. I am a freelance artist/writer.

Travelling is in my blood and exploring is in my mind.

I constantly seek inspirations from people around me and develop practical experiences through working and travelling.

Experience

VASK cards freelance designer

Feb 2018-Present

Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong

It is a project from the collaboration of CLAP for Youth@JC with Baptist University of Hong Kong. I am required to design 4 sets of cards, which includes Values, Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge, and incorporate specific details within each set. I have gained more experiences working with Adobe Photoshop (for design) and Adobe Indesign (for layering). This experience allows me to be a effective and creative designer.

Tutor for art crafts lesson

I had a 3-month contract with Changing Young Lives Foundation in Hong Kong. I was responsible to prepare weekly lesson materials (clay), manage classroom order, monitor children’s development and performance, meeting with parents.

Art Intern

July 2017-August 2017

Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

I applied for an art intern position in Harbor City and had a 1-month contract with them. I was responsible to assist famous Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki to showcase his artworks in Harbor City. While stationed outdoors, I was required to set up the installation artwork (Memorial Rebirth) in the open space near Star Ferry Pier. While stationed indoors, I had learned to introduce the Echoes Infinity exhibition. promote events and books to audience in the gallery.

I learned about the Creative Industry in this diploma course. I discovered more about the flexibility and potentials of portfolio careers, thus drives me to pursue a freelance career.

American International School, Hong Kong-High School

2012-2015

I studied 2D-studio art, psychology and English Literature in High School. The humanistic subjects enhance my creativity and critical thinking skills.
